Can I make a PPI tax claim if I now live abroad?

Making a PPI tax claim can feel complicated when you are trying to figure it out on your own. Here at Gowing Law Solicitors, we understand your worries. Compensation from tax claims can feel intimidating when you’re trying to claim your money back on your own. But don’t worry. Having an experienced tax solicitor on your side can help you get the pay-out that you deserve, even if you are currently living abroad. With the deadline for 2016-2017 claims due on the 5th April, it’s wise to get legal help so you can be supported throughout the compensation process. An experienced solicitor can make sure to fill in any tricky paperwork and can even speak to HMRC on your behalf.

Whether you live in the UK or outside in a different country, you could be eligible for a pay-out if not all of your PPI pay-out has been returned to you. That’s why it’s essential that you start your PPI tax claim as soon as possible to make sure that your compensation is returned to you in a reasonable time. You can start your PPI tax claim by phoning Gowing Law’s experts at 0161 464 4444. We have also included a link our PPI tax page. Click the button below to visit it!

What do I need to know about PPI claims?

Before we jump into PPI tax claims, let’s talk about PPI claims. That way you can understand the context behind your pay-out before you even get in touch with our law firm! PPI stands for “Payment Protection Insurance.” Initially, it was introduced as a way to cover you just in case you couldn’t pay back any outstanding debts on any financial agreements that you took out. This could include catalogue payments, insurance, mortgages and credit cards. Unfortunately, in quite a lot of cases, this financial policy simply wasn’t suitable for the client. Take a look at the infographic below to get an idea of why:

PPI Policy Infographic

These are only a few ways that you could have been eligible for a PPI pay-out from HMRC. If you could prove that you had been mis-sold this financial policy, you could have received compensation. Unfortunately, there is a high chance that you may not have had all of your pay-out returned to you. Instead, some of it may have been deducted due to PPI tax. This is where Gowing Law Solicitors can step in to help you establish a PPI tax claim.

PPI Deadline

Why did they take tax away from my PPI pay-out?

After waiting so long for your PPI pay-out, the last thing you want to realize is that you have not received all of it. You are eligible for a full pay-out; therefore, you have the right to have your full amount of compensation returned to you in a timely manner. With that said, let’s talk about how you could have had tax taken away from your PPI pay-out.

Your PPI pay-out is made up of three things. These are:

  • The amount you paid into your PPI
  • Any additional interest/loans that was added onto your PPI by your bank
  • A statutory interest of 8% every year

The only thing from these categories that can be taxed is your statutory interest. If it was suspected that you were going over your personal savings allowance (PSA), it is likely that you would have had the interest of your PSA taken away from you. However, in some cases it may have been automatically deducted from your total pay-out by at least 20%. This is where a solicitor can step in to help you make a PPI tax claim. To prove that you are eligible for a pay-out, all you need to do is show that you did not go over your PSA. Instead, it was wrongfully taken away and you have the right to have it returned to you.

Evidence for a PPI Tax Claim

Will I be eligible for a PPI Tax Claim if I now live abroad?

Yes you can! It does not matter where you live, as long as you previously were a citizen of the UK and paid into a PPI policy. If you received a pay-out from your PPI and did not receive the full amount, you could be eligible to make a claim.

We understand that you may have initially taken out a PPI policy in order to protect yourself if you wanted to go abroad to start a new business. So, if you ended up staying in the country of your work, or you even immigrated there, you could still be eligible for a pay-out. The only difference is that your solicitor may need to use a different type of PPI tax form. But apart from that, they will still be there to assist you with getting the pay-out that you deserve. So, try not to stress about whether or not your location with affect your compensation. Your solicitor will make sure that your pay-out will be secured as quickly as possible.

Keep in mind that it may take longer for your cheque to arrive, especially if it needs to be sent overseas. Be patient with your lawyer and feel free to keep asking for updates about your claim. They would be more than happy to assist you.

Will making a PPI tax claim whilst living abroad affect how much I receive from my pay-out?

Honestly, no it shouldn’t affect how much you receive. Each pay-out for a PPI tax claim is going to be different. Some people may receive £100’s in compensation, others may receive even more. At the end of the day, it all depends on how much money you put into your PPI policy in the first place. The more you have paid, the more likely it is that you will receive a higher pay-out in compensation. If you are feeling concerned about how much you could be owed as a PPI tax pay-out, it’s best to speak with a solicitor to ensure that you know how much you could be owed. They can help you make an estimate. If you want to know how you could calculate your owed pay-out on your own, visit our calculation blog

Road Accidents at Easter

Easter Accidents: Keep aware!

Now that we have talked a little bit about our Easter competition and you know how to get involved, we would just like to talk a little about the personal injury accidents that could happen during the Easter holidays. It’s at this time that the weather is getting warmer, and with the lockdown slowly being lessened, it’s important to take precautions in order to keep you and your family safe.

Although it is still advised that you do not go far, it is possible that you could experience a public accident due to someone else’s negligence. For instance, if you go to a store in order to pick up Easter baking supplies, you could be in danger of getting hurt due to:

  • Unstable product shelving
  • Products being messily left on the floor
  • Broken casing
  • Slippy floors
  • Violent customers

If you do get hurt due to someone else’s negligence over the Easter holidays, you could be eligible for compensation. The person in charge of the public venue, be there an employer, local government or a different body of authority, owed you a “duty of care”. That’s why if you got hurt due to their negligence and they did not do everything reasonably possible to help you, you can claim for compensation.

Evidence for a public accident claim

Don’t forget that to have a successful public accident claim, you will need evidence. Take a look at the infographic below for a better idea of what you could use to back up your case:

We know it can feel a bit unsettling to make a claim around the Easter holidays. You want to spend time with your family, friends and loved ones. The Basics of PPI: What do I need to know?

If you are thinking about making any sort of PPI Tax Claim, it’s important that you know exactly what you are claiming for. That way you can feel confident that you are going to be eligible to receive a pay-out. PPI stands for Payment Protection Insurance. Originally, it was used to protect you if you had taken out some sort of financial obligation, such as a loan or credit card. Unfortunately, in most cases it was very likely that the PPI was mis-sold to you. This is because:

  • Your financial adviser pressurized you into buying PPI
  • You did not realized you had bought PPI
  • You were self-employed when you were advised to buy it
  • When you took out PPI, you moved abroad

Those are only a few examples of how you were mis-sold PPI. However, you may have been paid back by HMRC for the unsuitable policy. You may have felt happy that you received a pay-out for your losses. Unfortunately, there is a chance that you did not receive the full pay-out. This is due to PPI Tax. But don’t worry, this is where Gowing Law Solicitors can step in to help you make a claim.

Now, the only thing that can be taxed is your statutory interest. If it is believed that the pay-out will make you go over your personal savings allowance (PSA), it is likely that you will not receive the full amount of your PPI that you were entitled to. If you are thinking about making a PPI Tax claim, it’s important that you are aware of the deadline coming up in April. As stated previously, you will have a time limit of four years to make a claim. Why was I charged PPI Tax in the first place?

Before we talk about making a PPI Tax claim, let’s have a quick discussion about PPI pay-outs. That way you can understand why you can make a claim in the first place! PPI stands for Payment Protection Insurance. It was originally created to protect clients who were taking our financial obligations, such as credit cards, loans or catalogue payments. Purchasing PPI would act as a safety blanket for if you could not pay back what you owed on time. However, in most cases it was actually mis-sold. For instance, most of the time the pay-outs from PPI would not be enough to cover the payments. Some additional reasons why it was mis-sold include:

  • You did not know you were being sold PPI
  • Your financial advisor pressurised you into purchasing PPI
  • PPI was included in your policy without you realizing it
  • You were self-employed when you purchased PPI
  • You went to live abroad after you purchased PPI

If you fell into the applicable categories then you could have made a PPI claim. Unfortunately, you may not have received all of the pay-out that you deserved. Instead, some of it may have been taken away due to PPI tax. Now that you understand PPI in general, let’s talk a little more about why your pay-out was taxed.

Pay-out for PPI

PPI Tax Claim: What do I need to know about a pay-out?

Now that you understand a little more about PPI, it’s important that you understand that your pay-out could have been taxed. Therefore you did not receive the full amount that you were owed from HMRC. Your pay-out was made up of three things:

PPI Tax Claim Pay-out infographic

As you can see, the only thing that could be taxed is your statutory interest. In some cases, your bank (or HMRC) may have assumed that you were going over your personal savings allowance (PSA) and that’s why the pay-out was tax. However, if you did not go over your PSA, and only received some of the pay-out that you were entitled to, you will be eligible to have this returned to you through a PPI Tax claim. In some cases, around 20% of your pay-out could have been automatically deducted due to the bank not checking more details about your PSA. This is where a trained solicitor from Gowing Law can help you get your money back.

PPI Tax Claim Pay-outs

Will Covid-19 and the lockdown impact my PPI tax claim?

Quite honestly, the only thing that could impact your PPI tax claim is in relation to the amount of time it may take in order to get your pay-out. As you may know, there has been a backlog of court cases in the UK. That means that it could take you a little longer to get the pay-out that you deserve. Try and remain patient with your solicitor as they will try their best to keep you in the loop about how your claim is progressing. Your PPI tax claim can all be handled remotely. This means that you will be kept safe and will not be put at risk by going outside of your social bubble.

Gowing Law’s solicitors understand that this is a difficult time for our clients. That’s why we want to give our clients as much support as possible. We can fill in any tricky paperwork and make sure to avoid any mistakes that could invalidate your claim. That way you can sit back, relax and allow yourself peace of mind whilst your lawyer can get your claim completely sorted.

We have even created a helpful PPI Tax claim form for you to fill out in order to help you get in contact with a tax specialist as quickly as possible:

How long do I have to make a claim?

The time limit is one of the reasons why we would highly recommend that you get in contact with a specialist tax solicitor as soon as possible. You should have around four years to make a valid claim from the tax year you received your PPI pay-out. For most people, that means the deadline for 2016-2017 is coming up in April. As it is likely that the pandemic may slow down your claim, it’s best to get the paperwork sorted for your claim as quickly as possible. That way you can get your pay-out before the deadline hits.

What hazards could cause a bike accident?

If you have experienced a bike accident, it’s very likely that you have suffered from traumatic injuries that have affected your life. You did not deserve to get hurt when travelling on the road. When the lockdown came into place, the UK government took it as an opportunity to encourage people to start riding their bikes if they needed to go out for essential travel, such as going to work or shopping for groceries. That’s why you make have bought a bike and decided to go out.

Unfortunately, cyclists are one of the most vulnerable vehicles on the road. This is because 80% of the road is used by cars, and as bikes are unprotected vehicles, it makes it more likely that you will get hurt in a road traffic accident. However, if you were not responsible for your bike accident, you could claim compensation for your injuries. The first thing you need to discern is what hazard actually caused you accident. Experiencing a bike accident: Who are the most vulnerable road users?

When you go on the road, it’s important to be aware of all of the other vehicles around you. That way you can make sure that you keep a safe distance from them and they can do the same for you. If you are driving a car, it’s important to understand that you are in an extremely protected vehicle. Unfortunately, there are other vehicles that do not have the same type of casing. Bikes and motorcycles are going to be faster than your car. Although, these vehicles do need to obey the rules of the road, just like you, it is likely that you may see them weaving around the traffic. If you do not see these vehicles fast enough, it is likely that you could cause a traffic accident where they could be severely injured.

All compensation claims are based on negligence. If someone is guilty of negligence, they may have to make a pay-out to the party who were injured as a result of it. Although pedestrians cannot really make a pay-out because they are not insured, other vehicles can make this type of pay-out. Negligence can include:

  • Speeding
  • Moving through red lights at traffic stops
  • Drinking whilst driving
  • Talking on a mobile device
  • Eating and drinking whilst driving

If you end up causing an accident because of this type of negligence, it is very likely that you will have to pay for the victim’s compensation from your insurance. That’s why it is essential that you keep an eye out for vulnerable vehicles and people who either use the road or are trying to cross it. You do not want to be responsible for an accident.

Death in a bike accident

What hazards are there that could cause a bike accident?

As a cyclist, it is important that you keep an eye on the other vehicles around you. You can wear safety equipment (such as a helmet and bright clothing) but that doesn’t mean that other cars and large vehicles can see you. That’s why it’s up to you to keep safe and try and obey the speed limits on the road. Do not take risks or try to “weave” through traffic. This can be extremely dangerous on a busy road and could end up with you getting hurt. If you are responsible for the accident it is very unlikely that you will receive compensation. With that said, if you were the victim of someone else’s negligence, you could receive a high pay-out depending on the extent of your injuries.

It’s important that you understand who could be responsible for your injuries. Take a look at the gif below to get an idea about who you could ask for a pay-out from:

Who is responsible for my cycling accident gif

As you can see, it is likely that there are quite a few determining factors when you get hurt in a cycling accident. For instance, if there was not another party present in the bike accident, but you got hurt due to potholes or the disrepair of the road. That would mean that you would have to launch a complaint or compensation claim to your local government. You would expect not only a pay-out but for the road’s damages to be fixed appropriately.

Thinking about making a bike accident claim?

Speak to your solicitor before you think about making your claim. That way you can know exactly who to ask about your compensation. With that said, it’s also important that you understand that the type of hazards that could cause you to get hurt. Take a look at the infographic below to understand the type of hazards that you need to be aware of on the road:

Hazards of bike accidents infographic

What should I do if I have been involved a bike accident?

If you have been hurt in a bike accident due to someone else’s negligence, the first thing you should do is get their contact details (including their full name, phone number and insurance details). However, if you have been badly hurt then you should call an ambulance as quickly as possible. That way you can have your injuries tended to and also receive a medical report that can prove that you were hurt in the accident.

Whilst you should always focus on your health first, if you do have the time to collect evidence then you should do this. The more evidence you have, the more likely it is that you are going to get a successful pay-out. Evidence can include:

  • Photographs
  • Video/CCTV/ Dash-Cam footage
  • Witness statements
  • Diary entries
  • Medical reports
  • Police reports
  • Receipts
  • Communication with insurance companies and other people involved in the accident

Your solicitor can help you organize this information and evidence. That way you can discuss a settlement agreement with the other party. Then you can come to a solution as quickly as possible.

St Patricks Day: Keeping safe and avoiding personal injuries

St Patricks Day Header

Happy St Patricks Day! Today is a special day for people all over the UK and Ireland where they honour their saint by wearing green. Now, normally on St Patrick’s Day, many people would decide to go out and enjoy some socialization in a pub or a bar with their friends. However, this year things are going to be a bit different. Covid-19 and the current lockdown has ensured that pubs and bars are going to remain shut. In fact, in order to maintain social distancing, and avoid getting in trouble with the law, you are not going to be able to meet up with your friends to drink like you may have previously. As we said, this year the holiday is going to have to be celebrated with caution in mind.

Here at Gowing Law Solicitors, we would highly recommend that you stay in your home and, if you are going to drink, do not drink in excess. If you do, there is a chance that you could get hurt. Did you know that the majority of traffic accidents actually happen on this holiday? Our law firm wants to make sure that you remain safe and abide by the social distancing laws currently in place. If you do get hurt in a public area on St Patrick’s Day, don’t hesitate to contact Gowing Law about a compensation claim. You can call us on 0161 464 4444 or visit our personal injury claim’s page here:

Road Traffic Accidents & St Patricks Day

Did you know that 25,000 pedestrian accidents are actually reported to the police every year? St Patricks Day is notorious for drunk drivers and road traffic accidents. This is due to the drunken celebrations of the holiday. If you are a pedestrian then you are eligible to make a pedestrian traffic claim. Traffic accident claims can be made if the driver, who hurt the pedestrian, neglected their “duty of care” towards the victim. They are responsible for keeping pedestrians, other drivers and passengers safe when they are utilizing the road or sidewalk. It is illegal to drink and drive, but this does not stop people from doing it. If you are the victim of drunk driving then you can make a compensation claim against them.

We would like all of our clients to know that whether you have got injured on a holiday, or on any other day of the year, our solicitors will be here to support you. They can help you collect your evidence and make sure that you get the compensation that you deserve.

Evidence can include:

evidence for personal injury infographic

Although St Patricks Day may be different this year, because there are no pubs and bars to go to, there is a chance that people may end up drinking at home. Therefore, it is important that you are aware that there could be drunken drivers on the road. Make sure to keep an eye on the roads if you are planning on going out. That way if you notice a driver:

  • Breaking the speed limit
  • Being involved in a “hit and run”
  • Driving through red lights
  • Speeding on the wrong side of the road
  • Refusing to stop for pedestrians

You can alert the authorities and also make sure to keep out of their pathway. That way you should be able to stay safe if you go out in the evening, especially on St Patrick’s Day.

Bright clothing to avoid road traffic accidents

What sort of other personal injuries can happen on St Patricks Day?

When we think about personal injuries and St Patricks Day, the first thing that comes to mind are drunk drivers. However, there are several other public accidents that could lead to you making a compensation claim. It’s tradition to bake on St Patrick’s Day, so if you work in a restaurant, it’s likely that you could be getting takeaway orders for people to celebrate the occasion. You could get hurt due to:

  • Kitchen accidents (such as fires or knife accidents)
  • Burns
  • Slips & trips
  • Violent customer altercations

Even during the pandemic, you could still be eligible for compensation if you suffered due to the negligence of your manager or work staff. They should be doing everything within their power to ensure you are safe when you do your job, even during the holiday season, therefore if you can prove that you suffered from their negligence, you could have a successful claim on your hands.

Criminal Injuries & St Patricks Day

Another thing that we would also like to make note of in relation to St Patricks Day are criminal injuries. Now, you should not really be going out this holiday season, however if people do choose to get extremely drunk in the evening time, it is likely that you could become the victim of criminal damages. This could include you becoming involved in a physical altercation or someone invading your home, or damaging your property (and you) in the process. Under the CICA scheme, you could be eligible for compensation. Just make sure to alert the police and allow them to conduct an investigation before you make your claim. That way it will not be invalidated by refusing to get the proper authorities involved.

What is British Citizenship all about?

If you are interested in living in the UK permanently, you will need to receive British Citizenship from the home office. This means that you will need to pay certain fees in order to receive a visa. As you can see from our video, there are many different types of visas that you can choose from. Make sure to read up on them in order to understand which would best you and your situation. For instance, if you are planning on studying in the UK, you may want to go after a student visa. Some examples of some visas may include:

  • Work visas
  • Business visas
  • Spouse visas
  • Asylum
  • Transit Visas

Choosing the type of visa you intend to apply for is important. However, it’s also important to consider British citizenship as a whole. By becoming a British citizen, you are going to be able to live and work within the UK without having to worry about immigration controls. If you want to receive your British citizenship, you are going to have to go through a process called “Naturalisation”. You can start this process once you have received your indefinite leave to remain. Your solicitor can guide you through this process and make sure you get the support needed to get you through this lengthy process. We understand that it can be expensive to achieve British citizenship. That’s why Gowing Law’s helpful team of immigration specialists will be here to support you throughout the entire process.

British Citizenship for people born in the UK

Naturalization & British Citizenship: How do I know I can obtain it?

If you are ready to apply for British Citizenship, it’s important to remember that the complexity of the process will depend on your own personal circumstances. However, the current pandemic as well as Brexit may also have an effect on your citizenship. For instance, it may end up causing delays due to social-distancing and safety measures now being put in place. With that said, your lawyer will be there to provide you personalized advice so you know exactly what to expect. So don’t worry!

There are many different ways that you could eligible to become a British citizen. One of the ways we can help you achieve your citizen status is through naturalisation. You must have lived in the UK for around 5 years (as well as have indefinite leave to remain) or have had permanent resident status for at least 12 months before you made your application.

Here are the criteria that you will need to fulfil during the naturalization process:

British Citizenship Eligibility

What other ways are there to achieve British Citizenship?

It’s important to remember that there other ways that you could achieve British citizenship, outside of naturalization process listed above. Instead, you could achieve a settled status if your partner/spouse has lived in the UK for more than 3 years. However, to do this you will need to have indefinite leave to remain, a settled status within the EU scheme or have a permanent residence document. This is only one of the ways that you could become a resident of the UK. Take a look at our infographic below to get a better idea of how you could achieve British citizenship:

British Citizenship Infographic

There may be other ways that you could be eligible for British Citizenship. Keep in mind that if you want your children to apply to be citizens, they must be registered. If the registration is successful then your children will be able to enter the UK without having to deal with any immigration controls. Your solicitor can give you further advice on this if you encounter any difficulties. Feel free to ask them questions about the process.

Biometric Information

Will I need to pay for British citizenship?

Unfortunately, if you do want to apply for British citizenship, you will need to pay fees. We understand that this can be stressful and may even make you feel overwhelmed. If your application is refused, you will get your fees returned to you. For a general estimate for how much you may pay, it could cost you around £1,330 to undergo the naturalization process. However, this may be subject to your own personal situation and where you are currently situated. It may also depend on why you want to settle in the UK.

This is why we would highly recommend that you speak to an immigration solicitor if you are interested in living in the UK. They can guide you through this lengthy process and ensure that you get the best advice possible. That way you can understand how you can get started and what obstacles you may need to face in the process.

How can I establish my Housing Disrepair Claim?

By making a housing disrepair claim, you are taking back control of your home and are ensuring you get the property repairs you need from your landlord. Your landlord is legally required to make sure that your home is habitable. That means if any damage happens to the interior or exterior, they need to be the ones to pay for repairs. You should not be funding any repairs in your rented accommodation. Unfortunately, not all landlords are going to uphold this legal requirement and may refuse to provide you support. This is where Gowing Law Solicitors can step in to help you. That way you can understand whether or not you could make a compensation claim due to their negligence.

We understand that making any sort of housing disrepair claim can be daunting. You want to keep on good terms with your landlord, therefore, you may be considering just paying for the repairs yourself. However, we would recommend that you don’t do this. You could get a pay-out between £1,000- £20,000 depending on the extent of your damages. Gowing Law’s expert solicitors can speak to your landlord on your behalf and help you establish why you are eligible to make a claim. Click the link below to visit our housing disrepair claim or call us on 0161 464 4444.

Housing Disrepair Claim Button

What is your landlord responsible for in your home?

If you live in a rented property, such as a home from the housing association or a council house, your landlord has a responsibility to make sure your house remains in a safe and habitable condition. That means if there are any damages to the interior or exterior, it is their responsibility to ensure that it is repaired in a timely manner. That way the living standards of your home will not be affected. Living in a house that is in need of repairs can have a severe impact on your mental health and quality of life. You may even be considering finding a new property to live in. If you are going to do this, you need to make sure that you make your claim before you move out. Sadly, you cannot make a housing disrepair claim if you have already moved out.

With that said, here are some examples of what your landlord is responsible for repairing in your rented accommodation:

Responsible for Housing Disrepair Claim Infographic

If your landlord refuses to pay for repairs in your rented accommodation, you could be eligible for a compensation claim. However, it’s important that you and your solicitor work together to establish your claim. This is a lot simpler than you think, especially if you have the right evidence to prove that you experienced damages as a result.

evicted from your home after a claim

What do I do to establish my Housing Disrepair Claim?

You will be happy to know that making any sort of claim, even during the pandemic, is not difficult if you establish your case. There are two criteria you need to fulfil if you are going to make a claim. The reason you need to do this is to prove that your landlord is guilty of negligence. They owe you a duty of care. If they do not try to do everything reasonably possible to get your house in a fit state to be lived in by you and your family, you could be owed compensation.

The two criteria to establish your claim are:

  • The damage to your home was completely avoidable

This means that your landlord could have stopped the damage. It would be easy enough to maintain your home’s installations, including your gas, heating, electricity and water. However, they didn’t and therefore were negligent.

  • Your landlord knew about the disrepair

In some cases, your landlord may have been able to foresee that the property they rented out was in need of repairs. You may have told them about the potential damages frequently, however they did not listen to you. That means when the damages began to damage your quality of life, they were guilty of negligence.

If you fall into either of these categories, your landlord could be liable for damages. Should they refuse to pay for the damages to improve your home, you should move forward with your housing disrepair claim. That way you can get your compensation pay-out as soon as possible.

housing disrepair claim rent help

How else could I be eligible to make a compensation?

If you are considering making a housing disrepair claim, you may also want to consider what sort of damages the state of your home has left you with. Now, when it comes to any sort of claims, the damages your experience are the key to getting a higher pay-out. Damages may include:

  • Physical damages
  • Emotional damages
  • Financial damages
  • Loss of opportunity
  • Technology/equipment damages

Most of the time, these types of damages are used with personal injury claims, however, you can do the same for housing disrepair claims. Take a look at the GIF below to get an idea of how your damages could affect your claim, as well as how much you could receive as a pay-out:

Housing Disrepair Claim GIF

Should you fall into any of the categories mentioned, it is essential that you have the evidence to back up these statements. Your evidence can include:

  • Photographs of the damages (i.e. your home or injuries)
  • Videos of the damages
  • Witness statements
  • Diary entries
  • Medical reports (i.e. about your physical injuries)
  • Receipts

Make sure to collect your evidence before you speak to your solicitor about making a claim. This will make it easier for both of you. It will certainly help when your solicitor speaks to your landlord or begins the necessary paperwork to get you the pay-out that you deserve.
